Overview

The Temporary Administrative Assistant will support the MGMT 6100 Team at the McNulty Leadership Program. They will perform various administrative duties each week. They will also provide support during the week of MGMT 6100 by setting up and breaking down the classrooms and overseeing catering from delivery through execution. This role is an excellent opportunity to learn more about event and project management at a large scale. 

  • Start date: May 19th - June 2nd
  • End date: August 21st. 
    (Must be available in person and very flexible with schedule, August 14 – 20)

Required Duties

Administrative Tasks: 

- Accept incoming mail and deliver it to the appropriate person or storage location

- Print, copy, and organize documents using office equipment and applications software

- Assist with data entry and other administrative tasks

- Create large catering orders

- Run necessary errands on campus. 

- Manage hiring documents

- Create seating charts for course

- Create professional nametags using basic computer software

- Assist with setting up and organizing materials, name tags, T-shirts, and signs 

Event management (must be flexible with schedule, August 14 – 20):

- Help with classroom setup and breakdown

- Manage signs and materials

- Oversee catering from delivery through execution

- Handle any emergencies related to catering

 

Preferred Qualification and Essential Skills

  • High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred; 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • Previous experience in higher education is highly desirable as well as an eagerness to learn and grow. 
  • Computer skills include all facets of Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced). 
  • Knowledge of Banner and Slate preferred but not required.
  • The candidate must possess excellent written, organizational, oral communication and problem-solving skills. 
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and excellent customer service.  
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities during peak periods. 
  • Maturity and professionalism are essential. 
  • Ability to work as a team player and help provide support when necessary.
