Overview
The Graduate Coordinator for Faculty Engagement Programming will support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of faculty engagement initiatives for approximately 690 students within the University of Pennsylvania’s College Achievement Program (PennCAP). This role is central to enhancing student-faculty interactions, fostering meaningful mentorship, and contributing to student success, particularly for first-generation students and students from limited-income backgrounds (FGLI).

Required Duties
- Program Coordination and Support
- Assist in the implementation of the Faculty Passport Initiative, including preparation, distribution, and tracking of passport books.
- Coordinate logistics for the "My Faculty Mentor" events, including communication with student leaders, faculty mentors, and marketing to participants.
- Provide administrative and operational support for event-based initiatives, including scheduling, event set-up, and follow-up communications.
- Faculty Engagement and Communication
- Help recruit and onboard faculty mentors for the FGLI-Friendly Faculty Network & Mentorship program.
- Event Management
- Develop plans for events such as the Speed Networking Mixer, faculty panels, and Mentor Meals, ensuring seamless execution.
- Track student and faculty participation and gather feedback through surveys and other evaluation tools.
- Data Collection and Analysis
- Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to faculty engagement programming to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of student and faculty participation in initiatives.
- Student Support
- Serve as a point of contact for students participating in faculty engagement programs, providing guidance and resources to maximize their experience.
- Encourage and support students in initiating faculty interactions, including attending office hours and scheduling meetings.
- Collaboration
- Partner with PennCAP staff to integrate faculty engagement efforts with other programmatic elements, such as the Graduate School Mentoring Initiative (GSMI).
- Work collaboratively with team members to design and enhance faculty engagement initiatives for broader impact.
Preferred Qualification and Essential Skills
- Enrollment in a graduate program, with a preference for fields related to higher education, student affairs, or counseling.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with sensitivity to the needs of FGLI students.
- Experience coordinating events and programs, preferably in an educational or student support context.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data collection tools like Google Forms or Qualtrics is a plus.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of or experience with mentoring or student-faculty engagement programs.
- Knowledge of or experience with FGLI student support.
