Overview

Working closely under the supervision of ECS faculty member, Dr. Linda Pheng. Support her ongoing projects and work.

Required Duties

Provide support to Dr. Linda Pheng.  Although particular tasks may vary, this may include such activities as:

  1. Supporting course development, including curricula or Canvas pages;
  2. Supporting ongoing research, publication or to Dr. Pheng's research team;
  3. Supporting event planning, talks, or special events;
  4. Supporting various administrative needs or other special projects. 

Preferred Qualification and Essential Skills

ELIGIBILITY

Students accepted to the Master's Program in Education, Culture, and Society at the Graduate School of Education will be strongly preferred.  Undergraduate students and students not enrolled in Education majors are not eligible and will not be considered.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have strong academic background and interest in Dr. Pheng’s research. 
  • Must be mature, reliable and responsive.
  • Strong communicative abilities and succinct writer.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask.
  • Must be a thoughtful, critical thinker.

Eligible applicants should submit their resume and a cover letter through the ECS Graduate Assistantship Submission Form. Interviews will take place over the summer and offers will be made before the Fall semester.  Strong preference will be given to ECS applicants. 

In the cover letter, applicants should address the following questions: Describe how you meet the qualifications described above, in background and experience. What do you find most compelling about the work of Dr. Pheng?  How do her interests align with your own interests and goals? What do you hope to get out of this experience?
