Overview
Working closely with conference leadership, the conference team, outside constituents, attendees and volunteers, help to organize the Ethnography Forum. Convened at Penn GSE since 1980, the Ethnography in Education Research Forum is internationally recognized for its encouragement of original and in-depth ethnographic research on education broadly defined, within and outside the context of schooling.

Required Duties
Serve as support for organizing a large academic conference, tasked with the following:
- General planning and operations for the conference;
- Organize and coordinate responsibilities of student volunteers;
- Use specialized platforms to track and maintain databases of conference presentations, participation, attendance, registration, and so on;
- Help to promote the conference through the creation of flyers, managing social media accounts, and producing content.
- Other special projects as needed.
Preferred Qualification and Essential Skills
ELIGIBILITY
Students accepted to the Master's Program in Education, Culture, and Society at the Graduate School of Education will be strongly preferred. Undergraduate students and students not enrolled in Education majors are not eligible and will not be considered.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be an organized, responsive, team player able to follow up on details, follow directions closely and have an interest in academic conferences.
- Maturity, reliability and strong discretion on working with diverse constituents.
- Strong communicative abilities and succinct writer.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask and work in a team.
- Strong technology skills, including learning new or specialized platforms.
- Administrative experience and/or event planning experience a plus.
