Overview
The School & Center Annual Giving Support (SACAG) Graduate Assistant will perform duties in support of annual giving fundraising activities for the graduate schools and centers. They will work collaboratively with assigned staff across the department to secure maximum results and create more efficiencies for annual giving programs. Specifically, the person holding this position will get to know 12 schools and several center affiliate annual giving programs throughout the course of the academic year.

Required Duties
In collaboration with the SACAG department, provide annual giving program support for the graduate school staff and their programs. Specifically, this intern will be introduced to the Benjamin Franklin Society (BFS), on-campus Student Engagement Center, and the suite of our creative and digital communication platforms.
Responsibilities within this graduate assistantship will facilitate the understanding of timely donor recognition, data analysis in annual giving, and standard operating procedures to maximize organizational efficiency.
In coordination with the team, assist in the design, planning and implementation of programs and events including internal Annual Giving meetings and external leadership donor stewardship events.
On occasion, assist staff with writing, copy editing and proofing annual giving appeals. This will include direct mail and online communications. Attend the monthly AAG (All Annual Giving) meetings and help facilitate Annual Giving Network (AGN) Webinars broadcasts, when possible. Work collaboratively with colleagues, alumni volunteers, and campus leadership.
Preferred Qualification and Essential Skills
- Strong interest in working with alumni, students and friends of the University and volunteers.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Prior experience or knowledge of basic fundraising concepts & techniques is a plus, but not required.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and strong service orientation.
- Knowledge of Microsoft O365 products like Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of marketing automation tools, like Salesforce Marketing Cloud (or similar) is helpful, but not required. Knowledge of Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack (NPSP) is helpful, but not required.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign or other design related programs would be helpful.
- Demonstrated experience in public relations, marketing, sales, and event planning would help.
Assistantship Environment:
- Ability to work with limited supervision and carry out multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform tasks with energy and enthusiasm.
- Ability to participate and contribute to a total team effort.
