Overview
The UTR student worker will serve a key role in supporting administrative functions of the Urban Teaching Residency program at Penn GSE. This position will offer the opportunity to explore multiple specializations within higher education administration, and demands vary seasonally with respect to the academic calendar. The UTR student worker will accrue experience in event coordination and planning, teacher education programming, higher education administration, and admissions.
One of the position’s primary functions is to provide support for UTR in-person events on Tuesday evenings from 3:30-8 PM. Additional responsibilities include communicating with current students about UTR programming and requirements, supporting the community group leaders in logistics and paperwork submission, and communicating with prospective students.

Required Duties
- Provide general administrative support to the UTR Division including faculty, staff, and students.
- Communicate with current students about UTR programming and requirements.
- Support the community group leaders in logistics and paperwork submission
- Maintain online/physical calendars and update event scheduling
- Assist Program Manager with projects, as assigned
- Attend regularly scheduled in-person meetings on Tuesday evening and other events as planned
Preferred Qualification and Essential Skills
Key qualifications include having a keen attention to detail, able to attend in-person events, and working well independently. A strong service orientation to current and prospective students, faculty, and GSE stakeholders is paramount. Maintaining confidentiality with sensitive information is essential.
